I reviewed this property before I’d even visited – in early 2020 Covid meant that we had to postpone our booking, but I was so impressed with the owner David’s cooperative and helpful attitude that I felt compelled to leave a strongly positive review. Now I have actually visited the house the review is even better. We stayed in Cliff Top for a week just before Easter. The house is wonderful, comfortable, very well equipped, all mod cons. But the position is to die for – I could (and for the most part did) spend all my time just sitting on the (huge) terrace looking at the waves and beach just below. I’m not sure I have ever stayed anywhere that feels so close to the elements while being able to stay warm at the same time. Better still, Portreath is pretty quiet, or at least was when we were there, certainly compared to larger towns like St Ives just down the road. David the owner and housekeeper Sharon were incredibly helpful in dealing with the booking and throughout our stay, including when I left my wetsuit behind. I can’t recommend highly enough
