Just a short hop away you have the Cornwall Gold Christmas Market: 4-7 December 2025, 10 am–4 pm, with over 45 local stalls, free parking/entry.
A great place to find handcrafted gifts, Cornish-made specialities and so on.
When you’re staying at Smugglers Cove Cottages, you’re close to cosy corners and festive food.
- The Basset Arms (Tregea Hill, Portreath) is offering Christmas and New Year dining, festive party nights and special breaks for the season.
- The POD Cafe on the seafront has Christmas party nights (5th, 6th, 12th, 13th December) with live music and festive menus.
- After a fresh winter walk, sliding into a warm pub with local ales, a roaring fire and festive fare is one of the great Cornish pleasures.
While Portreath itself may not have huge large-scale festive fireworks, it has enough charm and nearby events to give you a proper Christmas feel.
Portreath usually has a Christmas lights switch-on, carol singing and local community gathering in early December.
