🎃 Spooky Fun Near Portreath

1. Cornwall Gold & Tolgus Mill — Ghost Hunt

A family-friendly “ghost hunt” where you pick up a free detective map and explore the historic site, uncover clues about a 19th-century death, and earn a sticker when you finish.

Dates & Times:

• Runs from Saturday 18 October – Sunday 2 November 2025.
• Opening hours are standard visitor hours for the venue (check the website on the day).
  Tickets/Cost: Free activity (map included) as part of visiting the site.
• Tips: It’s very close to Portreath (Redruth area) so a short drive. Ideal for younger children or families wanting an easy “spooky” outing.

2. Gwel an Mor Resort — Pumpkin-Carving & Crafts 

A full “Halloween break” programme: indoor play, crafting, pumpkin carving, themed kids’ party etc.

 Dates & Times: October Half Term

Tickets/Cost: £10

 Tips: Great if you’re staying locally anyway; convenient and everything onsite. But bookings fill up fast. If sessions are fully booked, you can join the waitlist.

3. Dead of Night Dance at Tehidy Woods

A woodland event with immersive theatre, storytelling, a path through the woods, then a dance/disco under big tent. On the spooky-fun end — perfect for older kids/adults.
Dates & Times:

• Runs across multiple dates: October 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 31, and November 1 & 2.
• Four performances per day (except certain days may have fewer): 12:00 (noon) – “First Dance”; 14:30 – “Second Dance”; 17:00 – “Dusk Dance”; 20:00 – “Dark Dance”.
  Tickets/Cost:
• General tickets: £10–£14 depending what you choose. Ages 3 and under free.
• Arrive 15 minutes early; the event lasts about 2 hours.
  Tips: Dress warmly; come prepared for woodland terrain (wellies, torch). It’s a bit further than Portreath itself but still very accessible. Book early.

4. Local Community Events in Portreath Village

• Village Halloween Parade: As per local guide, the parade is on 31 October in Portreath Village Centre; costume contest, face-painting, food stalls, possibly fireworks.
• Craft Session at POD Cafe Portreath: Friday 29 October 2025, 16:00-17:30, “Ghost Workshop” (crafting hanging ghost decorations) including pumpkin pizza & juice for kids. Ticket: £20 per child.

  Tickets/Cost:

• Parade: usually free to attend; costume contest may have nominal entry. Confirm via village council.
• POD Cafe workshop: £20 per participating child, includes materials, food & drink. Adults to accompany kids.
  Tips: These are super convenient – right in Portreath. Great for younger kids, or spontaneous fun. For the parade, arrive early to get a good position. For the craft workshop, book ahead (limited spaces).
